A recent review by the EGIS consortium, published in The Lancet Respiratory Medicine, presents current knowledge and paradigms on mechanisms of immune dysregulation in sepsis. In particular, the EGIS authors discuss conceptual and technical approaches to monitor, evaluate and exploit sepsis-associated immune derangements for the purpose of personalised, high-precision sepsis treatment.
